I can't find that SSH222N50A Power Mosfet. A google search turns up nothing. Where can I get one? What type is it? When looking for an alternative what specs do I need to look for. Thanks Eric.

1. Can I use an IRFP450 mosfet and will putting several in series help with heating?

2. Can you elaborate on your power supply? I see 5 transformers in the video. Are these from Radioshack and how have you connected them to get the 50+ volts to drive the flyback.

3. Can you post a schematic for the audio driver portion of the circuit?

4. Do you see any advantages of using a TL494 timer over a 555??

Thanks

can you post second part or at least schematics and pcb of audio part

Please give a detailed description of how to connect an ipod to the HV system for the audio output. Also, can you post a list of parts and where to buy the parts for this project??????

Can I use a IRFP450 Mosfet instead of yours?

[...] The board/circuit diagram can be downloaded here. I included inputs/outputs for a few more buttons and a few LEDs in case you want to implement some extra controls. Use eagle to open the files. If you want to etch the board you can do so using my etching howto. [...]

Maybe I could have but..

a.) I don't primarily use a linux system
b.) The train isn't connected to a computer because I'd rather not leave a computer running outside my front door.
c.) That doesn't seem any simpler than my current implementation.

But thanks for the suggestion. :)
